Summary
This position is located at United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Services (ARS), The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF), located in Manhattan, Kansas. The mission of the NBAF Security unit is to focus on preventing unauthorized access to personnel, equipment, facilities, materials and safeguarding property from damage/theft; conducting intrusion and security risk assessment surveys and inspections to ensure security systems are in place and functional
Duties
Works closely with the NBAF Security Director and participates in the operations and oversight of the Security unit.
Provides support to the NBAF Security Director in planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing security management, security countermeasures, facilities management from a security standpoint, and emergency preparedness for NBAF.
Advises the NBAF Security Director on new developments and advances in security techniques and plans studies for long-range activities and recommends modifications as technology evolves.
Speaks for the Security Director and has authority to plan, formulate and take action in resolving issues and implementing improvements to services. This requires working with other management officials throughout NBAF.
