Summary

This position is located within Research and Development (R&D) Service at VA Boston Healthcare System. The position serves as a Health System Specialist providing administrative expertise in research data management, research program analysis, and data security operations.

Duties

Supports administrative functions of the R&D Committees. Tracks server access and file management. Assists in preparing materials and data summaries for audits. Coordinates with the Research Compliance Officer, Information Security Officer, and Privacy Officer on data security and privacy matters affecting research studies. Monitor and provide monthly review of research credentialing portal to confirm employees can continue to conduct research. Manages user access requests, menu options, security keys, and file access for research applications. Coordinates new user setup, deactivation, and periodic access reviews (e.g., annual recertification of user access and security keys) for research staff. Communicates and coordinates implementation of software patches, upgrades, and national/local application changes affecting research systems. Ensures research data extracted, stored, and shared complies with applicable Data Use Agreements. Identify and address various data discrepancies and quality issues. Develops and maintains analytic queries, automated reports, and executive dashboards.
