23 open positions in this category
The 0671 series, Health System Specialist, covers the administrative professionals who keep a health care organization running without delivering care themselves: supporting medical center directors and chiefs of staff, managing credentialing and privileging of clinicians, planning services and capacity, coordinating health professions education, running group practices and implementing systems such as electronic health records. It is most common in the Veterans Health Administration, with a smaller presence in the Defense Health Agency and in Guard and Reserve medical units.
Recent listings have included health system specialists, supervisory health system specialists, a credentialing and privileging specialist and a credentialing and privileging manager, a chief of staff health system specialist, an executive assistant health system specialist, a planner, a health professions education specialist, a group practice manager for a clinical resource hub, an electronic health record modernization specialist and a Title 32 health systems specialist in a Guard unit.
Applying tip: announcements name a focus in parentheses, and the specialized experience is judged against that focus, so a credentialing background will not automatically qualify you for a planning role. Title 32 positions in Guard units require membership in the Guard. Our federal resume guide explains how to document that experience.
