The primary purpose: to serve as the Department of the Air Force Environmental Impact Analysis Process Subject Matter Expert and as the lead Air Force consultant for conduct of EIAP projects to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act in support of Air Force decision making at all levels of Command (Installation, MAJCOM, and Headquarters Air Force).
Duties
Serves as the DAF EIAP SME and as the lead AF consultant for conduct of EIAP projects to comply with NEPA in support of DAF decision making at all levels of Command (Installation, MAJCOM, and Headquarters Air Force). Provide consultant services to HAF, MAJCOMs, and bases. Defends, justifies, and resolves controversial technical issues or provides professional expertise. Prepares technical articles, technical letters, guidance, training, and other official publications and forms of information transfer for the DAF regarding EIAP and NEPA compliance. Researches requirements and develops research and development needs relating to DAF's EIAP program. Develops, coordinates, manages, and monitors projects with other Federal, and research and development organizations to improve the DAF's EIAP program including technical, PPBE oversight with the overarching goals of improving the quality of the DAF's NEPA process, while streamlining environmental timelines, and controlling costs. Represents the DAF on committees and technical working groups, staying current on policy and technical developments. Serves on various working groups such as integrated process teams, rapid improvement events, and committees on DAF EIAP program.
