THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number PDT5763000 and is part of the WY 243d Combat Airfield Operations Squadron, Wyoming National Guard. This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, and Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)". This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is not required.
Duties
This position is in the Wyoming Air National Guard's (ANG) 153d Airlift Wing, 243d Combat Airfield Operations Squadron, Airfield Systems Flight. The purpose is to provide technical expertise to maintain and certify Air traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS). This includes performing investigation, analysis, diagnosis, testing, tuning, correction, optimization, alignment, and verification/certification to ensure continuous and reliable operation of air traffic control and landing and communication systems. Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing or similar activities; recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items weighing less than 50 pounds; and/or regular visits to outdoor sites. Work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts, such as dust, strong odors, or fumes from fuels, chemicals, or engine exhaust; high levels of noise and vibration, dust, grease, electrical hazards, uncovered moving parts of machinery, moving machinery; or outdoor conditions involving moderate exposure to rain, cold/hot weather, icy streams, and rivers. The work environment requires the employee to stay alert continually and to take special safety precautions including wearing special protective items of clothing. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **
Requirements
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: U.S. Citizenship Required. Must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program. Employees are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Veterans' Preference applies (if applicable) to this advertisement. May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1)
