Duties

Serving as a Training Admissions Specialist GS-0301-11 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Training Analysis and Allocations Branch (TRAAB), Training Resources Coordination Division (TRC), Training Management Operations(TMO) Directorate under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations and located within Artesia, New Mexico. The primary purpose of the position is to actively participate in the planning and coordination of the overall registration and allocation process of the center. Typical duties include: Developing the FLETC Training Projection Request Packets which are distributed to client agencies seeking training workload projections for the subsequent fiscal year and five out years. Allocating training slots in Center Basic and Center Advanced training programs to the FLETC agency clientele. Making recommendations to agency training officers on the appropriate training program suited for student's/agency's needs. Analyzing historical data and reviewing information to provide advisory guidance on agency allocations. Utilizing various evaluative and analytical tools and techniques to develop spreadsheets and databases to capture training workload. Initiating and coordinating preparation of confirmation correspondence, transmitting approved allocations and quotas to the appropriate federal agencies training officers. Determining the report dates for pre-registration rosters, notifying agencies when FLETC registration policy has been violated for past due rosters. You will be evaluated using your application materials, questionnaire and results of the online assessment to determine your qualifications. Online assessment: You must complete the online USA Hire Competency Based Assessments measuring critical general competencies required to perform the job. Applicants completing the online assessment will move on to the next phase of the assessment process. SME Q&A: At this phase, qualified candidates will participate in an SME Q&A to further assess your technical qualifications relative to the required specialized experience. Applicants passing the SME Q&A will be rated and ranked. We will review your resume and supporting documentation to ensure you meet the minimum qualification (min quals) requirements. If met, we will use multiple assessments to place you in one of three categories demonstrating the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Flexibility, Integrity/Honesty, Interpersonal Skills, Learning, Reading Comprehension, Reasoning, Self-Management, Stress Tolerance, and Teamwork If you meet the min quals, you will be placed in one of the following categories: Best-Qualified: Applicants with experience substantially exceeding the min quals of the position and demonstrating high proficiency in all critical competencies, including all Selective Placement Factors (SPF), and appropriate Quality Ranking Factors (QRF) as determined by the job analysis (JA). Well-Qualified: Applicants with experience exceeding the min quals and demonstrating acceptable proficiency in the critical competencies, including all SPF's and appropriate QRFs in the JA. Qualified: Applicants with experience meeting the min quals and demonstrate basic proficiency in most of the critical competencies, including all SPFs and appropriate QRFs in the JA.
