Summary
The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in the Office of Planning, Design and Construction (OPDC). OPDC is responsible for the Smithsonian's physical infrastructure, which comprises over 700 buildings, other structures and leased spaces many which are designated as historic and all of which are visited by millions of people each year.
Duties
The Supervisory Program Manager provides executive leadership, direction, and integration for the Institution's Facility Capital Program (FCP), a complex, multi-year portfolio of capital planning, design, and construction initiatives affecting all Smithsonian museums, research facilities, and support infrastructure. In this position, you will: Establish program priorities and ensure that scope, schedule, cost, and performance are aligned with institutional objectives, mission priorities, and external requirements. Identify risks, variances, and program slippages; evaluates program performance and takes corrective action to ensure effective execution of the Facility Capital Program. Lead program-level financial management, capital programming, resource allocation, budget formulation, forecasting, and performance tracking. Advise senior leadership and represent OPDC with Smithsonian executives, unit directors, Federal oversight organizations, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders. Direct and supervise a multidisciplinary staff of program managers, analysts, and support personnel. Evaluate program effectiveness, efficiency, quality, workload, and resource utilization.

Skill in managing Construction Programs which include program governance, performance monitoring, risk management, control systems to improve program execution and accountability. Knowledge of capital programming, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Skill in communicating with diverse audiences on various subjects such as negotiations and conflict resolution. Ability to supervise and develop a diverse multidisciplinary workforce. Ability to evaluate Construction programs milestones.
