Summary
About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Resident Engineer performing on-site administration of construction contracts under delegated authority of an ACO warrant for the New Orleans Area Office (NOAO). The person will also serve as the Assistant Area Engineer sharing in NOAO administrative responsibilities such as developing office policy, handling government purchase card billing official responsibilities, travel order/voucher approval, and Floodfight sector coordination.
Duties
Leads a team of engineering and technical personnel engaged in quality assurance activities, plans the team's work assignments, and reviews their work for consistency and compliance.
Responsible for reviewing preliminary plans and specifications for future contracts, overseeing contract inspection activities, and participating in emergency operations
Assisting office engineers and construction managers engaged in reviewing contractor proposals, preparing cost estimates for changes and claims, participating in negotiations and preparing construction contract modifications.
Prepare periodic progress reports to assess contract completion and compliance.
