Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The VA San Francisco Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Program in the Mental Health Service Line at the Oakland location. Incumbent is assigned to the VA SFHCS Mental Health PTSD program and functions as a part of an interdisciplinary team. Services are carried out in full accordance with specific program goals and broad objectives of the VA health care system. The incumbent will primarily focus on addressing the complex mental health needs of Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with a portion of his or her time devoted to meeting the mental health needs of Veterans who do not carry a primary PTSD diagnosis. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides specialized services for complex patients with PTSD and/or post deployment problems, with service delivery to include intake evaluation, diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy and patient education. Applies a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducation classes to a wide range of patients with complex needs. Uses specialized knowledge to consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of complex patient care issues. Develops person-centered, culturally sensitive treatment plans to address the complex mental health needs of PTSD patients. Conducts in-depth evaluations to aid in the differential diagnosis of complex cases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
