Summary

You will work to eliminate or control hazardous operations or conditions at the facility and is responsible for participating in the planning, development, and implementation of an occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, and wellness program specific to assignments given by the Safety Program Manager.

Duties

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

Performs environmental safety and health inspections in a variety of workplace environments, noting hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices.

Conducts regular safety and health-related inspections and checks throughout the facility/campus.

Identifies and works to eliminate unsafe and unhealthful environmental conditions discovered as a result of these inspections.

Selects, sets up, calibrates, monitors, and reads a wide variety of sampling and measuring devices, and performs workplace/environmental monitoring tasks.

Coordinates and manages the disposal of all hazardous waste, such as chemical, biological, and radioactive waste.

Enforces federal, state, and USDA APHIS guidelines concerning hazardous waste.

Provides instruction and training in various safety and occupational health subjects.
