Summary

This position is located in the Division of Insurance and Research, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support with variety of duties and responsibilities to ensure that the Division is operating in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with the established policies, procedures and regulations. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill similar vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

At the full performance level, major duties include: Conducts detailed analysis of the business operations within the Division's internal control program to verify appropriate controls are in place to identify risk. Evaluates and assesses business units to ensure compliance with the Corporate internal control program and the Division's policies and procedures. Reviews and evaluates work paper documents and analyzes the effectiveness of business processes and determines compliance in meeting the organization's established goals. Reviews and assesses external audit reviews, obtains requested information from Division staff, analyzes and drafts audit responses, and develops follow-up procedures, if necessary. Performs cost-benefit analysis and assists in the formulation, justification, and monitoring of the Division's budget. Monitors budget performance on a monthly basis and analyzes budget trends. Investigates, identifies, and explains budget variances to managers and staff. Analyzes data and information using quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques and resources in the preparation of work products.
