Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is in the Engineering Support Branch, Interagency Engineering Section and can be located in either location. Recruitment or Relocation incentive may be authorized if found in the best interest of the government.

Duties

Performs, reviews or directs the survey and investigations at the project site to determine condition of facilities and to secure the necessary data prior to initiating design and evaluates the data obtained.

Evaluates design objectives, performs and/or reviews complex technical engineering calculations, identifies and/or reviews economical, sustainable, and efficient procedures for project design and performance considering all influences.

Prepares or assists with detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding, bid evaluations and contract modifications.

Reviews and evaluates shop drawings, samples, and material certifications submitted by contractor for contract and performance requirements, recommending approval, rejection, or receipt.

Provides independent technical review of A/E or in-house designs, specifications, and reports as related to mechanical issues.
