Summary
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - CYBER SENSING PORT MANAGEMENT OFFICE (ID).
Duties
Serves as the foremost thought leader (Management Official) for his/her career discipline in the assigned mission subject area, on behalf of the Cyber Development Directorate (ID), DISA and the DOD community.
Serves as the systems engineering architect in developing information architectures or modifications thereto, or participates in the development of Department-wide or Federal architectural policy, guidelines, frameworks and implementations.
Develops, defines, and modifies research and development objectives in the course of planning and conducting work.
Coordinates with senior technical managers within DISA, the DOD and non-DOD organizations on the identification and definition of technology issues, and participates in collaboration to formulate strategies.
Leads, initiates, and monitors specialty programs while evaluating the impact of major technological changes on DoD governance, goals, and objectives.
Mentors technical staff to support cross functional knowledge, skills and abilities to develop the technical workforce.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the required qualifying experience at the GG-15 grade level. IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT: You MUST submit a legible copy of your college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the application phase). Failure to provide transcripts at the time of application will result in an automatic determination of "Ineligible." Foreign education must be accompanied by an evaluation from a private agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
