Summary
This position is in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate, Personnel Services Division. The Directorate provides human resources support to the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and those Defense Agencies and Department of War (DoW) field activities WHS administratively supports. The Personnel Services Division provides recruitment, placement, and classification services for the Principal Staff Assistants in the OSW, WHS, and other supported DoW activities.
Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Ensure the prompt processing of all personnel actions and accurate position documentation performed in Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) database, USA STAFFING, and ASARS as you learn these systems. Prepare and deliver oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities. Participate with higher-graded employees in composing handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions and training programs. Assists with administration of the Priority Placement Program (PPP) and other special hiring programs. Exercises considerable independence in performing recruitment and placement support tasks involved in filling a variety of positions using a variety of personnel authorities and systems. Perform a variety of recruitment and placement support duties.

Substitution of Education for Experience at the GS-05 level : Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
