Duties
As a(n) Epidemiologist, you will: Serves as a national or internationally recognized consultant and expert on epidemiological issues on critical problems in the field of epidemiology. Identifies and analyzes public health issues and their impact on public policies or epidemiological studies or surveys. Designs, plans, and initiates epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations. Evaluates data collection, quality control, and data utilization methods used to study epidemiological problems and issues. Provides advice and assistance for the development of contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements for professional, laboratory, or other services pertinent to the program, project, or study. Prepares statements of work, participates in technical review panels for contract proposals, and oversees contracts and cooperative agreements to ensure quality assurance and quality control.
Education
