Summary
Join NASA's Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI) as the JPL Site Environmental Technical Manager and help enable mission success through environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance. You will provide technical leadership for complex environmental programs supporting JPL's mission operations, infrastructure, construction, and facilities while ensuring compliance with federal environmental requirements.
Duties
Serves as Environmental Technical Manager for JPL sites including the main Oak Grove campus in Pasadena, California, the Goldstone Deep Space Communication Complex in Fort Irwin, California and Table Mountain Facility in Wrightwood, California.
Serves as the civil servant signatory authority responsible for certifying regulatory JPL submittals to applicable environmental regulatory agencies.
Oversees National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews and Section 106 consultations with Tribal Nations and State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs).
Leads environmental regulatory negotiations, permitting activities, coordination with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and related inherently governmental functions.
Develops, implements, and evaluates environmental compliance programs to ensure JPL operations meet applicable laws, regulations, policies, and permit requirements.
Provides authoritative technical guidance to NASA and JPL leadership and stakeholders on complex environmental issues, compliance risks, and requirements affecting mission execution.
