Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Under Secretary for Management, Budget Division. The primary purpose of this position is to provide guidance and oversight of the Department's budget, financial management, and investment review to ensure funds necessary to carry out the Department's mission are obtained, allocated, and expanded in accordance with the Department's priorities and relevant law and policies. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

As a Budget Analyst, GS-0560-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following: Participates in the planning, organization, and execution of a major, substantive budget for a significant program component. Assists in ensuring the effective integration of program and budget planning. Performs a variety of administrative and analytical duties in support of the review, justification and presentation of the budgets for a major Component(s) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Reviews and recommends the amount and timing of apportionment of funds to agency components and programs. Recommends modified strategies for presenting the budget and programs. Develops narrative and statistical justifications for requested funds. Coordinates with DHS Components, internal offices, and external stakeholders to resolve budget issues and support timely submission of required products.
