This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Security and preparedness (OSP), Field Operations Division, VA Police Service. The mission of the VA Police Service is to provide law enforcement, protective services, and investigative services to the VA Community, which includes Veterans, federal employees, affiliates, contractors, visitors, and others who receive services, work, or visit VA (VHA, VBA &NCA) facilities nationwide.
Duties
Duties include but not limited to: Leads in administering programs concerning equal opportunity, merit promotion, employee/labor-management relations and position management Space management Approving supply orders and resource management Maintains awareness of available resources and makes recommendations regarding needs and distribution Gathering and analyzing budget needs Maintains internal controls for fiscal management Assembles and compiles budget information Manages procurement and contracting for the service Prepares procurement requests and evaluates proposals for work Initiates and prepares contracts Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday based on needs of the service. Telework: This position may be authorized for telework on an as needed (ad hoc) basis, determined by the needs of the service. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
