Equipment specialists in the 1670 series are the technical experts on a class of equipment, aircraft, vehicles, weapons, generators or test equipment, who advise on its maintenance, modification, supply support and disposal, write the technical procedures, investigate failures and work with engineers and contractors on changes. They sit between the shop floor and the engineering office, and most are in the military departments and the Defense Logistics Agency. Listings here have come from the Army Aviation and Missile Command, Air Force Materiel Command, the Marine Corps, U.S. Pacific Fleet, the Army National Guard and DLA.
Recent listings have included equipment specialists, one under direct hire authority, a Title 32 supervisory equipment specialist at an Army National Guard unit, and an equipment specialist posted as an Expeditionary Civilian position.
Applying tip: announcements name the equipment family and rate hands-on and technical-data experience with it, so lead with the specific systems, aircraft types or vehicle fleets you know and the technical manuals and maintenance data systems you have used. Title 32 means the job requires National Guard membership; Expeditionary Civilian positions can be required to deploy. Our National Guard guide explains Guard announcements.
