Equipment Facilities, and Services
12 open positions in this category
The 1601 series, Equipment, Facilities, and Services, is the general series for administrative and management work in equipment, facilities and services programs that no more specific series covers: managing maintenance organizations, planning facility capital projects, overseeing biomedical equipment support and coordinating installation services. The Air Force and Army are the largest employers through Air and Army National Guard units and the Air Force Reserve Command, the Veterans Health Administration uses the series for biomedical equipment support, and the Army Corps of Engineers, the Navy and the Department of Homeland Security also hire.
Recent listings have included aircraft maintenance managers and a surface maintenance manager, a non-destructive testing inspection manager, a maintenance control specialist, biomedical equipment support specialists including imaging, facilities specialists, a facility capital planning specialist, a supervisory facilities and emergency management specialist, and a supervisory deputy commandant.
Applying tip: this series mixes two very different worlds. Guard maintenance manager positions are technician roles that require membership in the unit, so read the military requirements first. VHA biomedical equipment positions are judged on medical device and healthcare technology management experience. Our National Guard guide explains how technician announcements differ from ordinary federal jobs.
