Summary

About the Position: Manages transportation fleet operations, including vehicles, equipment, maintenance, budgeting, compliance, and transportation support. This is a developmental position, with selection to be made at either the GS-07 or GS-09 grade. If selected at the GS-11 grade, promotion to GS-09 will be made non-competitively at the supervisor's discretion. Promotion is not guaranteed.

Duties

Manages the district’s vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe, available, properly maintained, and efficiently used.

Plans and manages vehicle purchases, replacements, repairs, rentals, and disposal based on mission needs, costs, and vehicle usage.

Manages fleet budgets, bills, payments, and financial records to ensure expenses are accurate, properly funded, and compliant with federal rules.

Coordinates transportation services, including freight, buses, rental vehicles, emergency transportation, and government vehicle licensing.

Analyzes vehicle use, maintenance, fuel costs, and financial data to identify problems, improve operations, and advise district leadership.

To be considered well-qualified and receive selection priority applicants must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a score of 90 or above.
