Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is in the Geotechnical Branch, Soils Design and Materials Section. This position serves as Section Chief of Soils Design and Materials Section A or Soils Design and Materials Section B. Recruitment or Relocation incentives may be authorized.
Duties
Assigns work to subordinates individually or through senior lead positions based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Reviews completed work to ensure proper coordination, general adequacy of decisions, conclusions, recommendations, and timely completion.
Originates and directs special investigations, involving the design of earth and rockfill structures that require a very high degree of engineering knowledge and soil mechanics experience.
Conducts or participates in conferences and meetings to discuss proposed and ongoing design projects, and to resolve problems.
Education
