Duties
The NRC views summer interns as part of our future workforce. Internships offer professional-level work in a supportive learning environment. Work assignments are based on the functions and tasks of the host office and will be ideally aligned with your academic background and career goals. The majority of internship opportunities are located at NRC Headquarters located in Rockville, MD. Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must complete and pass a background investigation. Must pass a drug test. Must be enrolled or accepted enrollment at an accredited institution. Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.85 or higher.
Education
This is an excepted service summer appointment and it is not to exceed 89 days. This announcement is only open to applicants who meet the definition of a student and are in good academic standing. You MUST currently be a degree-seeking student, enrolled at least half-time at an accredited educational institution, as defined by the U.S. Department of Education and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.85 or higher. Student Definition An individual who has been accepted for enrollment or is currently enrolled in a qualifying educational institution and is pursuing at least a four-year degree on a full-time or part-time basis, as defined by the institution in which they are enrolled. Graduation Requirement Applicants must have a projected graduation date after the conclusion of the internship program. Applicants who graduate before the internship begins or at any point during the internship period will not be eligible for consideration. This internship is expected to run from May through August or September 2027 depending on the participant's start date. Foreign Education Education completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by a private professional organization specializing in the interpretation of foreign education credentials or by an accredited U.S. educational institution. The evaluation must establish the education's equivalency to a degree earned at an accredited college or university in the United States. A copy of the credential evaluation must be submitted with your application. Foreign education will not be considered without the required evaluation.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in the requirements section, your responses to the vacancy questions as well as the information provided in your resume. Qualified applicants will be referred to the hiring manager in ranked order based on veteran preference status, as follows: Veterans eligible for preference with a compensable, service-connected disability of 10 percent or more.
