Duties
As a PROTOCOL SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-9/11 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a Protocol Specialist, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing visits by distinguished persons. Review, amend, and staff all project documentation, including invitations and scripts, to ensure coordination and approval at appropriate levels. Formulate, develop and implement protocol policy and procedural guidance concerning proper protocol requirements for precedence, honors, ceremonies, flags, dinners and socials, visiting dignitaries, mementos, conferences, official meetings and briefings. Lead or participate in special initiatives, studies and special projects and initiatives and performs non routine assignments. Analyze, plan, oversee, review, consolidate, and provide written reports and briefings outlining findings of special initiatives, studies, and projects. Custodian for Official Representation Funds (ORF) and Special Morale and Welfare (SM&W) Funds for events/activities for host and associate AF units.
