Summary
The Program Support Assistant (PSA) provides full support to the Service to ensure operational efficiency. Routine work is performed independently in accordance with the overall objectives of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System.
Duties
Duties but not limited to the following: Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the VASNHS Facility Telehealth Coordinator by coordinating administrative functions for Telehealth programs. These programs may include, but are not limited to, Home Telehealth (HT), Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT), and Store and Forward Telehealth (SFT). Programs that utilize Telehealth for patient care coordination, staff training, and patient education are administered in accordance with established VHA and VISN standards, are consistent with VISN level and facility level policies and procedures, and support VISN and facility strategic planning efforts. The VASNHS Office of Nursing Service extends the provision of patient care to various institutional and non-institutional settings such as Vet Centers, homeless shelters, and other affiliated organizations by using innovative telecommunication technologies to enhance care coordination, access care, and to routinely and proactively manage diseases to prevent healthcare crises. Data Collection & Tracking Support The employee is responsible for the independent performance of administrative duties as delegated by the Telehealth Program Manager. The employee will perform specialized duties in Telehealth and is involved in a wide variety of problems or situations; develops information, identifies interrelationships, and takes actions consistent with objectives of the function or program served. The employee will accomplish numerous administrative functions independently in areas such as personnel management, supply and equipment need, budget preparation, collecting and analyzing data, completing reports, collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information, and submitting recommendations on management information systems. The employee independently prepares, executes, and/or tracks program specific information, such as staffing effectiveness data, overtime/ compensatory time use, floating of personnel, and other data used for evidence-based decision making. The employee will use software applications to draw information in order to prepare/assist in preparation of reports: sources may include Pyramid Analytics, VistA databases, Telehealth Scheduling System (TSS), and SQL servers. Independently collects data for statistical studies and reports, analyzes and submits recommendations on findings in areas including Telehealth scheduling, patient wait times, CVT equipment status and inventory. The employee will provide support to the Telehealth Program Manager and independently prepares all documents for Telehealth related committees, councils, and workgroups as needed. The employee will receive and review all administrative and personnel publications. The employee will perform administrative support of the Telehealth Programs and assist with any future proposals/projects that are implemented. The employee is under the direct supervision of the Telehealth Program Manager and performs most duties independently. The employee's duties are varied, routine, and consist of handling data and assisting with coordination of the Telehealth programs. The employee will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor will include serving as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who contact the Telehealth office. The employee will receive incoming correspondence from vendors via US Mail delivery, intradepartmental documents, fax documents, hand delivered packets and routes them to the appropriate channels.
