Summary
The Program Director of the Veteran Integrated Pain Management (VIPM) program reports and is directly responsible for the Chief, Primary Care Service (PCS) for the effective management, functioning, and coordination of patient care services through the VIPM clinic. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Chief PCS and other service line administrative personnel to develop, evaluate and maintain programing and pain management services.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensures that all VIPM polices, programs and services are congruent with the mission and vision of the Asheville VA Medical Center. Ensures that all VIPM polices and practices are consistent with the professional, technical, and ethical standards of the disciplines represented within the service. Responsible for administrative and personnel management functions related to staff, which includes direct supervision of physicians, psychologist, mid-level practitioners, some administrative staff, and others as indicated. Establishment of guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Assure that subordinates are trained and fully compliant with the provision of safety regulations. Adjust staffing levels or work procedures to accommodate resource allocation decisions made at higher echelons.
