This position is part of the Arctic Energy Office, Department of Energy. As a Program Advisor, you will serve as a principal advisor and senior business development lead within the Arctic Energy Office, focusing on advancing the Department's domestic energy priorities in Alaska and the broader Arctic region.
Duties
The Arctic Energy Office office works to identify, promote, and mobilize resources for the rapid deployment of critical energy projects in the Arctic. These projects, often at advanced Technology Readiness Levels, are intended to provide reliable, affordable, and secure energy to benefit Alaskans, national security installations, the continental U.S., and international partners. Veterans shape the future of energy As a Program Advisor at the GS-14 level, you will: Identifies, develops, and advances major energy project opportunities that support energy reliability, affordability, security, and Departmental priorities. Analyzes complex program, policy, legislative, and regulatory issues to develop strategies, options, and recommendations for senior leadership. Develops strategic partnerships with government, Tribal, utility, industry, and other stakeholders to advance significant energy initiatives and resolve competing interests. Represents senior leadership in interagency and external activities and communicates and defends Departmental positions and recommendations. Advises senior leadership on significant Arctic energy issues and coordinates programs and projects across organizations to support a unified strategy. Develops written analyses, recommendations, briefings, and other decision-support materials on significant program and policy matters.
