Summary
IT Specialist Network Engineer position(s) are being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's delegated Direct Hire Authority, open to all U.S. citizens. Selections made under this bulletin will be processed as new appointments to the civil service. Current civil service employees would, therefore, be given new appointments to the civil service. Under the provisions of the Direct Hire Authority, Veterans Preference and the "Rule of Many" do not apply.

Positions filled with applications from this pool will be placed into positions where Artificial Intelligence duties occupy the majority of the work performed.

If this occurs, you may be found ineligible. Duties of Position Performs the selection, configuration, generation, implementation, and support for all network software supporting the SSA Wide Area. Conducts analysis, simulations, benchmarks, and feasibility studies relative to the latest software developments in the field, revisions to existing software systems, and proposed CO and remote reconfigurations. Develops agency guidelines on the use of network features. Participates in the development of recommendations and performance specifications of major network system acquisitions; conducts studies relating to project network capabilities for new acquisitions. Collaborates with supervisors and technical experts within OSOHE and other segments of systems to negotiate and coordinate network related changes impacting other organizations
