Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties
The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor-EDRP position is within Mental Health in the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP) clinic. Duties may include but are not limited to: -May coordinate programming within both various mental health and primary care programs. -May be involved in research activities, especially as related to program evaluation responsibilities. -May have responsibility for and oversight of the programmatic resources of various clinical programs that are specialized/complex and significantly impact the delivery of health care service to Veterans in the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS). -May assist the work of various clinical programs and their staff, ensuring that work is assigned in a systematic way and meets facility and VA guidelines/standards. -Provides a full range of psychological services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. -Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others. -Provides a range of psychological therapeutic interventions with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders utilizing empirically supported modalities when indicated. -May be asked to prepare and teach seminars/workshops for STVHCS trainees/staff on topics within competency areas.
