Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.

Duties

Plan and perform on-site surveys which include walking and carrying objects for prolonged periods of time over rough, uneven mountainous terrain, and steep slopes.

Plan and participate in full range of Land Surveying duties in connection with planning, design, and construction.

Perform all office computations and direct survey layouts, hydrographic chart making, and topographic mapping for the District.

Plan and prepare contract specifications and Government estimates.

Plan and participate in the presentation or selection process leading up to contract award.

Verify contractor survey techniques and project conditions for quality assurance.

Review incoming field survey material for accuracy and compliance.
