Summary

This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate (HRD). HRD provides human resource management support to the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and WHS, to include providing guidance to WHS and the Director of Administration (DA) leadership on complex matters such as key operational support and advisory assistance on civilian and military human resources.

Duties

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serve as a WHS/OSD ASL Interpreter for Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing employees and visitors. Interpret for Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing employees engaged in specialized meetings, seminars, in-house training, career counseling, performance evaluation discussions, and other discussions with supervisors or other staff member. Assist employees with reading, reviewing hard copy text and electronically displayed information, increasing the font of electronic documents in order for Blind and low vision employees to view documents with ease. Serve as a technical advisor on a wide range of ASL issues critical to the achievement of the agency mission. Utilize skill in a variety of signed languages (i.e., American Sign Language (ASL), Contact Sign, and Conceptually Accurate Signed English, (CASE).
