Summary
You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Benefits/Retirement) with Office of the Secretary of Interior. There is one vacancy for this position which will be filled in the Office of Human Capital (OHC), OHC Strategic Policy and Programs Division, Workforce Relations Branch.
Duties
At the full performance level GS-14 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Serves as the Agency Benefits Officer and liaises with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), operational Human Resource counterparts, and the agency's payroll provider. Resolves complex retirement and benefits coverage and eligibility issues impacting employees and retirees providing interagency guidance and technical expertise on policy interpretation, benefits and retirement administration, and corrective actions. Responsible for oversight of enterprise-wide benefits and retirement programs. Plans, develops, and coordinates Departmentwide police, guidance, and resources ensuring consistency with laws, rules, and regulations. Hosts community of practice meetings for the purpose of sharing information and providing strategic direction across the enterprise. Works closely with the Classification division on matters involving special retirement coverage for firefighters and law enforcement. The position is suitable for telework and the incumbent may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval. Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
