Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as the Executive Assistant within the Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS). The Executive Assistant works independently, but in concert with the RCS Chief Officer and acts as the designate to the RCS Chief Officer in coordinating the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the National RCS Program Office located in Washington, DC.
Duties
The major duties of this position include but are not limited to: Serves as Executive Assistant to Chief Officer in coordinating day-to-day administrative and operational functions. Ensures all time sensitive controlled correspondence is answered completely, accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures that correspondence receives the appropriate development in terms of coordinating the legal, technical, and policy issues as required. Ensures replies are responsive, consistent with department policy and guidance and assesses the impact on organization and other government entities and private sector. Through consultation with the authorized servicing HR office, recommends solutions to difficult administrative problems assuring effective use of staffing and resources. Initiates final responses on all executive correspondence, ensuring that responses thoroughly address the issue and conform with Department, Administration, and Program policy and procedures. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm EST Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Ad hoc is defined as occasional, non-recurring telework. Virtual: This is a virtual position. Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees who are already subject to the return to the in-person work mandate in their current position. Definition of Virtual Work: Employee works outside of original hiring duty station at a VA-owned or leased space. Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in effect and selectees will be required to report to in person work unless they have an approved exception or an exemption. Any approval for an RTO exception, exemption, or extension will happen after a tentative job offer, but before a final job offer.
