The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA is searching for a Director of Inspections & Exercises to support the SBD 3/IG (NH-1801-03, GS 12/13 equivalent). Description: - Experience planning, organizing, and executing military or civilian organizational inspections, program evaluations, or compliance audits. - Direct experience designing, coordinating, and evaluating large-scale emergency response or readiness exercises - Experience analyzing complex data sets or audit findings to identify systemic trends, write professional technical reports, and present formal briefings to executive leadership. - Proficiency in utilizing database management tools (such as IGEMS, MICT, or civilian equivalent compliance tracking systems). Ideal Candidate: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of Inspections and Exercises (NH-1801-03) and principal advisor to the SBD 3 Commander and the Inspector General. In this capacity, you will plan, design, organize, and execute all aspects of the Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) and base-wide readiness exercises. By utilizing advanced inspection methodologies and management tools, you will identify undetected mission risk, evaluate compliance with federal directives, and prepare SBD 3 for external Unit Effectiveness Inspections (UEI) conducted by higher headquarters. Major Duties and Responsibilities - Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) Management - Exercise Design, Planning, and Execution - Wing/Delta Inspection Team (WIT/DIT) Leadership - IG Systems Administration and Data Analytics Key Skills and Abilities: - Comprehensive knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and Space Force inspection policies, specifically DAFI 90-302, or equivalent institutional evaluation systems. - Skilled in modern exercise design principles, scenario development, and performance evaluation methodologies. - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to assess operational processes, evaluate potential risks, and propose practical corrective solutions. - Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams of subject matter experts and brief senior military commanders (O-6 and above) on sensitive organizational findings.
