Summary
This position is part of the Office of Policy's, Economic Growth and Energy Jobs Office (OP-40). As a Supervisory Economist, you will serve as the Office Director for OP-40 and serve as the liaison between the Executive Director/Principal Deputy Director and staff, and other program offices to carry out the Department's priorities. You will act as the subject matter authority on all issues surrounding economic growth, energy jobs creation, research and oil and gas markets.
Duties

Veterans shape the future of energy As a Supervisory Economist, you will: Provide authoritative economic analyses, expert advice, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on energy markets, workforce trends, and national energy policy. Formulate and execute complex economic models, studies, and evaluations-focusing on oil, gas, energy markets, and supply chains to address emerging national energy challenges. Direct the data collection, analysis, and publication of the annual U.S. Energy Employment Report (USEER) and lead the Energy Workforce Advisory Board (EWAB). Collaborate across Department of Energy offices to ensure energy programs integrate economic growth, job creation, energy security, and energy affordability into long-term planning. Lead interagency working groups and represent DOE with Congressional committees, industry stakeholders, state/local governments, and international entities to advance energy policies. Plan, assign, and evaluate work; establish performance standards; mentor employees; and handle administrative, hiring, training needs and disciplinary actions for the division.
Education

How you will be evaluated
This position is announced under a government-wide Direct-Hire Authority (DHA) for Director of Economic Growth and Energy Jobs positions in the 0110 series. Under the DHA, applicants who meet the Education and Qualification requirements listed in this announcement will be referred for consideration. Veteran's Preference, category rating, and traditional rating and ranking of applicants do not apply under the DHA process.
