Summary
You will serve as a Contract Specialist in the Procurement Group, Weapons & Energetics Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will assist senior contract specialist in the negotiation and administration of contracts and orders between the Government and contractors from receipt of requirement through physical and financial completion.
You will assist in reviewing purchase requests for completeness and clarity.
You will coordinate with internal and external offices and agencies on matters relating to assigned contracts.
You will assist with preparing written solicitation that includes the appropriate provisions and clauses tailored to the requirement and assembled in a format appropriate to the acquisition method and market for the required supply or service.
You will respond to an inquiry about the solicitation received prior to contract award or a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.
Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement. At the DA-03 Level: Successful completion of 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education OR Successful completion of masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D. At the DA-02 Level: Successful completion of 1 full academic year of graduate education OR Successful completion of law school or superior academic achievement
