Duties
Responsible for all aspects of contract management as well as those inherent to contract administration and contract close-out.
Develops acquisition strategy to fit each unique requirement, including specific product lines and production capability, unique weapons system platforms, including contract type, and milestones.
Ensures acquisition plans are in full compliance with contracting regulations and related DoD standards.
Ensures the performance of the Contracting Officer (Technical) Representatives (COR/COTR) in the administration of the contracts and determines the limits and range of their duties and responsibilities.
Determines when to terminate contracts and coordinates with the program office.
Conducts negotiations to consummate award actions with responsible contractors and concludes negotiations ensuring that the governments requirements are obtained at a fair and reasonable price and within the required timeframes.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
