Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: As part of the COMUSAFE-AFAFRICA Personal Staff, the Associate Director provides strategic advice, communications expertise, and time-critical project support to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Command Chief, and Chief of Staff, also known as the Command Team. The incumbent assists the Command Team through the development of strategy, senior leader messaging, and shaping international and legislative engagements. Specifically, the Associate Director coordinates, manages, and prepares the Command Team for Key Leadership Engagement (KLE) events with European and African dignitaries, component staffs, civic leaders, government officials, and military defense industry partners. Duties Leads the development and coordination of the Key Leadership Engagement (KLE) process planning, approval, and execution. Serves as the Command Legislative Liaison. Briefs and works with members of Congress and their staffs on behalf of COMUSAFE-AFAFRICA and prepares the Command Team for Congressional engagements. Engages and coordinates with USAFE-AFAFRICA, Air Force, and DoD staff on issues and directives impacting operations. Serves as speechwriter and conference planner for high-visibility conferences at the highest levels of military leadership, visits, and engagements.
