The Azure Platform Lead is accountable for team execution, communication, and accountability, while guiding technical direction and ensuring successful delivery of Azure services into operations. The team includes Azure Administrators, Azure Architects leveraging Infrastructure as Code, and engineers supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments. You will lead a team of engineers responsible for Azure platform operations and engineering across a diverse cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

•             Establish and maintain consistent team cadence, including 1:1s, performance management, and clear prioritization
•             Drive accountability across the team, including senior engineers, ensuring strong ownership and collaboration
•             Ensure operational processes are followed consistently, with a focus on risk management and reliability
•             Own onboarding, transitions, and workload distribution across the team
•             Provide clear and proactive communication to leadership on team status, risks, and priorities
•             Partner across engineering, security, and network teams to ensure aligned execution
•             Translate architectural direction into actionable plans with clear ownership and follow-through
•             Delegate technical execution appropriately while maintaining visibility into delivery

•             Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
•             Azure administration and platform operations
•             Nerdio for AVD management and optimization

What Success Looks Like

•             The team operates with consistent engagement, clear direction, and strong leadership presence
•             Accountability is visible across all team members, including senior engineers
•             Escalations are minimized through clear ownership and proactive communication
•             Delivery is predictable and aligned to operational processes
•             The team demonstrates confidence in leadership support and direction

Qualifications:

Required:

•             Ability to attain DHS EOD
•             BA with 10 years of experience, AA with 12 years, MA with 7 years, or 16 years of relevant experience
•             10+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments, including cloud and infrastructure

•             Strong track record of performance management and team accountability
•             Experience operating in environments with high visibility, compliance requirements, and structured processes
•             Demonstrated ability to balance technical leadership with people management responsibilities
•             Experience supporting federal or regulated environments

Key Traits for Success

•             Leadership-first mindset with a focus on team performance over individual contribution
•             Strong communication discipline and responsiveness
•             Ability to hold senior engineers accountable
