Duties
As an Attorney Advisor, you will be responsible for the following duties: If selected at the GS-11 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity. If selected at the GS-12 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity. As an Attorney-Advisor (General), under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Counsel, DLA Counsel Weapons Support, you will provide legal support, advice and counsel on a variety of issues and matters. Providing legal support, advice, and counsel in the following legal areas: Government Contracts, Fiscal, Installation, Administrative, Ethics, Procurement Fraud, and Labor & Employment. Researching, analyzing, and interpreting applicable legal authorities to address legal questions arising from day-to-day operations. Developing and analyzing facts relevant to legal matters presented. Providing written and verbal legal advice to management and operating officials to ensure actions taken are in accordance with governing laws, regulations and policies, and to limit litigation risk. Providing legal representation before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Assisting U.S. Attorneys and Department of Justice in Federal court cases. Performing other duties as assigned.
Education
