This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD), Library Staff, DOJ Museum.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities for a Archivist, GS-1420-11/12/13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Museum senior technical authority on records appraisal, analyzing Department records and case files across the full breadth of the archival program. Negotiate the retention, transfer, or disposition of records with the National Archives and Records Administration and Department records management officials. Represent the Museum in agency-level and interagency discussions on records appraisal policy. Recommend best practices related to archival processes for Museum and Department staff. Evaluate and recommends improvements to storage, housing, and environment-monitoring practices across the archival program.
