Department of War Education Activity
9 remote or telework-eligible positions · federal agency
The Department of War Education Activity is the USAJOBS name for the Department of Defense field activity long known as DoDEA, which runs the schools that educate the children of military families on installations in the United States and overseas. Teachers and school staff are hired on their own schedules; the listings here are the headquarters and district positions that support the system, in areas such as legal, human resources, finance, contracting and student transportation.
Recent listings have included attorney-advisors, lead program specialists for student transportation, a supervisory human resources specialist, a risk management and internal controls specialist, a contract specialist and a chief of operations, plans, legislation and policy.
Applying tip: the agency serves a worldwide school system, so experience with geographically dispersed operations, overseas logistics or school administration is worth stating explicitly, and attorney positions require a law degree and active bar membership. The legal jobs guide covers federal attorney hiring, and the HR jobs guide explains the HR specialties.
