Summary

This Transportation Assistant position is located under the Director's Office at the Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OKCVAHCS). The position works to ensure the Beneficiary Travel, Special Mode Transportation, Fraud Prevention, and Ambulance billing programs are in compliance, and is responsible for overall planning, coordination, implementation, management, and evaluation of clinical applications of patient transportation with particular emphasis on improving care and safety of veterans.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include: Review for accuracy and process Beneficiary Travel claims for the purpose of reimbursing Veterans for travel to and from VA medical appointments. Review eligibility of each Veteran before finalizing Beneficiary Travel reimbursements. Attend to all details of voucher processing to prevent the processing of fraudulent claims. Research payments for reimbursement when requested by Veterans, Supervisor or the Mobility Manager, coordinating with the Fiscal office when required Prepare data processing report for daily batch review. Prepare and audit Beneficiary Travel voucher daily batch for errors. Transfer Beneficiary Travel voucher daily batch to Fiscal office. Compile and submit daily clerk report summarizing all vouchers processed, phone calls, and customer service interactions. Review eligibility of each Veteran before scheduling Special Mode Transportation, including review of CPRS Bene-Travel consults. Maintain timekeeping accountability and accuracy within the VATAS program. Coordinate daily with all vendors for Special Mode Transportation. Schedule and reserve tickets for eligible patients requiring airline transportation. Assures that all appropriate VA forms are used correctly and regulations followed. Perform other duties as assigned.
