Summary
The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. The position is located in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Administration, Division of Administrative Services.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: In coordination with the Chief of DAS, plans and directs administrative services programs at BLS, including setting long-range goals and objectives, managing the budgetary process for the DAS, and exercising managerial and supervisory authority for DAS employees. Directs the delivery of innovative, professional, value-added, and customer-focused administrative services and products that are of high quality and aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Coordinates at a high level with other federal agencies and private security organizations to develop and execute emergency planning for the agency. Develops programs to increase the efficiency of facilities management, including such issues as space rent, telecommunications, safety and health, and security-related issues. Provides expert analysis and advice to BLS senior management on a variety of complex security, procurement, contracting, and other administrative service matters and issues.
