Summary

About the Position: Serves as Branch Chief with responsibility for accomplishing the mission of Operations Technical Support Branch. Branch functions include planning and designing Civil Works projects and responsibility for all aspects of civil, electrical, mechanical, and materials engineering, and Natural Resources designs and treatments, and related contract technical specifications.

Duties

Manages a large, multi-disciplined professional, technical, administrative and wage grade workforce.

Outlines overall program requirements and objectives to subordinate supervisors and coordinates and monitors the execution of assigned functions.

Provides oversight in the preparation of technical specifications for the procurement of dredging services.

Provides oversight in the preparation of plans and designs, corrective maintenance measures, improvements, or minor alterations to navigation and flood control structures, facilities, and operating machinery.

Serves as expert consultant and technical advisor on matters pertaining to the operation and maintenance of facilities and associated equipment.

Communicates and resolves controversial issues between varying entities both internal and external to the organization to successfully accomplish objectives.
