The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Director, Special Operations Command Central, a subordinate command of the SOCOM with the responsibility of assisting and advising the Director of SOCCENT in the execution of the Intelligence Directorate responsibilities and in the absence of the Director, assume full control and responsibility for the work of the organization.

Duties

- Work in conjunction with the Director in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the SOCCENT Intelligence Directorate in order to achieve organizational goals and customer's needs. - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. - Assist the Intelligence Directorate (J2) providing direction and command integration of intelligence management, threat analysis, forecasting and other analytical methodologies enabling the SOCCENT Commander to effectively manage mission objectives. - Serves as the SOCCENT Resource Manager. Plans, organizes and oversees all of Intelligence Resource Management Issues. Consolidates all J2 resource requirements and identifies the appropriate budget category for funding source. - Serves as the SOCCENT Security Manager with responsibilities in oversight of Information Security (IS), Foreign Disclosure (FD), and Special Security. Serves as the manager for Foreign Disclosure Officers (FDO's) and Foreign Disclosure Representatives (FDR's) at SOCCENT.

Education

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service. DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.
