Summary

The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. This position is with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Field Operations, Dallas Regional Office, Economic Analysis and Information (EA&I) Division.

Duties

This position is the Division Chief of Economic Analysis and Information (EA&I) for the Dallas Region and includes the following responsibilities: Serves as a Regional EA&I Supervisor providing leadership and direction for the EA&I functions carried out in the Regional Office. Makes recommendations and decisions involving significant internal and external program and policy issues affecting the overall organization. Organizes and executes economic analysis of substantial breadth and complexity encompassing a wide range of socioeconomic data including most or all BLS programs and major programs of other Federal Agencies. Reviews proposals, drafts and final submission for major publication articles for internal and external publications, to be produced by regional personnel. Represents the Regional Commissioner and the agency in media interviews, public presentations and other venues in a highly-visible environment. Represents the agency with key and high level officials from governmental, academic, business and labor organizations. Supervises at least 25% of the time: Provides advice, counsel, and instruction to individual employees on performance and administrative matters; establish performance standards, evaluate performance, and rate subordinate employees.
