Summary

You will serve as a PROGRAM SPECIALIST (NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING) in the NON-DESTRUCTIVE TEST DIVISION (Code135) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will provide standardized policy, technical support, coordination, and compliance reviews.

You will advise and assist in the development and preparation of preventative maintenance instructions, procedures, technical specifications, and recommend modifications to improve testing process.

You will meeting with stakeholders to keep personnel informed of changes in procedures, policies or plans and to insure uniform application and interpretation.

You will work on major nuclear and non-nuclear projects and provide technical advice to personnel on production support problems to assure timely work completion.

You will provide technical direction on Non-Destructive Testing in order to resolve difficult and complex problems and interprets command and commercial specifications related to non-destructive testing of ships required to support production.

You will establish requirements for technical evaluations of non-destructive inspection to ensure continuing compliance critical to complex and non-routine mechanical components, systems and equipment.

You will plan and coordinate multiple complex shipyard non-destructive testing technical projects.

You will maintain awareness for and mitigate any delays or interferences that could impede normal operations that have the potential to inhibit progress and take proactive measures to expedite all actions to maintain project schedules.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:For the GS-11: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; or successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; or a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
