Summary
This position is located in the Office of the Secretary of War, Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (USW (P&R)), within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, (ASW (M&RA), under the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Military Personnel Policy (DASW (MPP)) and the Director, General/Flag Officer Matters & Officer Management(G/FOM&OM)/Special Assistant for Senior Officer Matters.
Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Advises and provides expert assistance to the Director, G/FOM&OM and executive leadership on all matters relating to the original appointments and inter-service transfers of officers within the Military Services for both Active and Reserve Components Researches, analyzes, reviews, and coordinates issues relating to officer appointment policy. Formulates recommendations and develops policy statements and analysis in support of legislative proposals relating to original appointments and inter-service transfers. Provides advice to senior leaders on issues related to officer appointments and in the development of solutions to especially complex concerns regarding the original appointment process and the development of significant program improvements. Serves as General/Flag Officer & Officer Managment liaison in support of the DoW's Information Management System.
