Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst (Wildland Fire - Incident Business) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Develops project charters, plans, schedules, and governance routines; monitors progress; resolves issues; and implements corrective actions to maintain alignment with objectives, schedule, and resource constraints. Conducts analyses of proposed program changes, including impacts of legislative and regulatory requirements, long-range goals, resource needs, and stakeholder impacts, and incident business. Applies qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze program and business data included budget and financial management. Conducts comprehensive reviews of wildland fire program business processes and internal controls; identifies gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; and develops recommendations to strengthen standardization, accountability, and cost effectiveness. Prepares and delivers briefings, executive summaries, decision memoranda, and presentations that translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for leaders.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation. Direct Deposit Required. The competencies below provide an overview of what this position entails once encumbered: Fire Management: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories of fire management, including the characteristics, behavior, and ecology of fire; methodologies, strategies, and equipment used in prescribed fires; fire detection, prevention, and suppression strategies; and integration of fire with natural resource management. Administration and Management: Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production. Budget and Finance: Ability to provide budget and financial support services for Fire Management activities. Planning and Evaluating: Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities.
